2017 has been the year of the lost tooth for Nolan Lucas!
Back in February, I got a call from daycare that Nolan tripped and fell, hitting his mouth and that his bottom teeth were loose. I can't say with certainty that they weren't loose before that, but we took him to the dentist and they warned us they would probably fall out soon.
Sure enough, on March 1st, 2017, Nolan lost his first ever tooth!! It fell out at school, and they captured the moment with photos and kept the tooth in a bag for the tooth fairy <3
Nolan is a sentimental guy, and, although excited for the tooth fairy, was concerned about not being able to keep his tooth! We assured him that the tooth fairy would understand if we left her a note.

As expected, the tooth fairy understood and left his tooth along with a few gold sacagawea dollar coins!
Nolan lost his 2nd tooth about a month later right after his 5th birthday on April 6th. Although the dentist had mentioned that Nolan was on the very early end to lose teeth, one of his classmates Teagan lost her first tooth at Nolan's birthday party so he wasn't the only one in his class to have missing teeth!
This second tooth came out at home and I got to witness in person how brave he was even despite a bloody mouth. My tough guy!

After the first tooth fairy trip, I decided it was time to upgrade the process, so instead of using a small pouch under his pillow, I got cute personalized tooth pillows made from Etsy with their names on them. Nolan got a pirate and Emmy a ballerina. These hang from the bedroom doorknobs so the tooth fairy has easier access ;)

The next two teeth came out quickly over the summer - the other two bottom teeth next to the front ones. By the time he lost those, his adult teeth were in for his bottom front.

By this time, the tooth fairy expanded her gifts from just American gold dollars to coins from around the world! She's mixed in Euros, Pounds, Swiss Francs, Dominican Pesos, and Mexican Pesos, to name a few. Since she travels all around the world, she likes to sprinkle the money around when she visits. Nolan loves this!

The other front tooth was hanging on by a thread for little awhile! It only took about a week for it to fall out.

Thankfully the timing when he had one front crooked tooth hanging by a thread coincided with "Dress like a farmer" day at school. How perfect is this with his missing teeth??! So great.
His 2nd front tooth fell out on Nov 09, 2017 - a week after the first one. We were glad this happened right before Joe and I left for NC for a long weekend or Nonna/Pop Pop would have had to help out the tooth fairy!

I'm so excited this coincided with Christmas!! All he wants for Christmas is his two front teeth!
