First Snow(s) of the Season!

I'm back after a few stressful days of computer issues. My macbook is over 6 years old, but I was able to bring it back from the dead through reformatting/OSX reinstall so hopefully I can milk some more time out of it before upgrading!

Back to the updates - we have a lot to catch up on!

As I mentioned in the last post, December has brought on a ton of snow already! We had 4 snow storms in two weeks! The first big snow storm happened on our way home from the Please Touch museum and brought in around 8 inches of snow! We wasted no time in getting Nolan geared up in his snow pants (still barely fits from last year!) and new winter coat and checked out the snow.
Our trees in the back covered in snow

Winter Wonderland
He somehow reminded me of "Mr. Smee" from Peter Pan (must be the hat!)

Did OK for the first few steps

Then he decided he hated it
We did a few photos outside - it was still coming down pretty heavily!

Dean had an absolute blast running around in the snow. He's definitely a "snow dog"! I think he's happy to get to experience snow after his first few years in hot North Carolina - this weather suits his fur coat more!

Love this photo - everything a blur except his happy face!

Happy hiding underneath the deck where there was no snow :)

Only a few days later, we were hit with another ~4 inches on a Tuesday, giving the three of us a snow day at home! Joe and I took turns trying to get some work done while the other played with Nolan. We tried to take him out again hoping he'd warm up a bit to the idea of playing in the snow.

Our snowy view for the day
It was a "stay in your pajamas" kinda day - even under your snow pants ;)

Always wanting to sweep/clean!
Ready for more snow play!
Happy dog eating snow

Sticking to his safe haven under the deck while dad knocks off the snow from our pines

"Whooaaa!"

He still insisted on going in the swing - he couldn't move in there in his snow suit!

Having a bit more fun this time!
I brought out my hockey stick to give him something to play with outside (we've since bought a snow shovel and pull sled, but of course haven't had an opportunity to use them yet). He loved the hockey stick - taking after mommy!

Ready for some hockey!

Having fun!
Unfortunately, all the snow melted before Christmas due to some freakishly warm December weather that got up to 70F the week before Christmas. We did however get a few flurries on Christmas eve and the day after Christmas (although nothing stuck), that still gave us that magical white christmas feeling. We'll be ready with Nolan's new toys for the next storm!
