The word of the winter is SNOW. No doubt about it.... it's been the snowiest winter on record for a LONG time. Lots of snow days... many kids are in heaven I'm sure. But poor little Nolan isn't one of them. Unfortunately, at least for now, he seems to be "a surfer not a skier" as one friend put it...
As I mentioned
in the last snow post, Nolan didn't have a great time with our first big snow in December. We decided to give it another shot in January, this time with a "toddler sled" we bought at target that can be pulled around in the backyard.
At first, things looked encouraging...
| He's HAVING FUN! |
| SMILES! |
| Posing for the camera |
But then, things took a turn for the worse...
| OH NO :( |
Unfortunately, Joe got a little too crazy with the running to pull the sled and kicked up snow in Nolan's face in the process. There was no turning back once it happened...
| Realizing the damage had been done. |
At least our other son enjoys the snow! (Snow beard and all!)
| Snow Dog. |
We tried to coax Nolan back out by offering him a new toddler shovel we bought thinking he'd love to mirror daddy and want to shovel. This was as far as he got.
| Can I just shovel from in here? |
| No thanks. |
Instead, he tried to coax Dean back inside with a treat :)
| Milkbone in hand to get Dean back in |
| Here Dean! |
This... the beginning of January... was the last time we've gotten Nolan in his snowsuit. Yes, it is a little snug since it's from last year, but I don't think that's the reason why he runs away crying at the sight of it now. I even tried putting an extra layer of sweatpants over his fleece sleeper instead but he could see right through my ploy and refused. Walking to and from the car gets lots of "COLD!" remarks from him. Maybe we should look into moving back south ;)
