Holiday Activities 2016

The kids were in such a fun age for Christmas this year. Nolan was so excited the entire month of December and is already asking when it will be Christmas again (and still singing christmas songs!)

We didn't waste any time getting into the spirit this year and Thanksgiving weekend headed over to our local Washington Crossing Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. The tree in Washington Crossing park is seriously gigantic and was fun to see lit up. The tree is so big the party was underneath it!

Carols being played under the tree

Santa and his helpers were there handing out candy canes. Our first Santa meeting of the season!

Nolan requested matching santa Jammies with Emmy and I was happy to deliver!

The felt Christmas tree was revived from past years and Nolan did a great job decorating it!
We tried a new place this year for our Christmas tree - King's Indian Head Farm in Newtown close to our house. It was super low-key with no crowds and we loved our tree. It held up great during the season shedding less than any previous tree I remember.

Always a tough choice picking the best one!

Bringing the tree home. RIP CRV :(

Then of course it was time to decorate the tree! Nolan picked the first ornament of the year - Train!
Very concentrated

Our tree! Joe and I agree it is one of our best ever :)

Christmas sweaters from Nonna!

This year we got invited to a kids Secret Santa party at Nolan's friend Mason's house. Nolan got assigned Mason and Emmy got assigned Shane as their secret santas. It was a fun party with all the kids before Christmas!

We made Christmas tree Brownies that were super easy. Thanks Pinterest!

We continued our tradition from last year of heading over to Shady Brook Farm for their amazing drive-through light show! It is incredible how many lights are up - it takes over a half hour to drive through and see them all! The kids loved it - there were lots of "ooooh's" coming from the back seat ;)

Love the drive through light tunnels!

It wouldn't be Christmas without cookies! Nolan requested sugar cookies for Santa again this year so he helped with the cookie cutter and decorations.

Some of the finished product!
Making memories <3

The excitement around the house was definitely palpable all December as we got closer and closer to the big day! Nolan counted down his his magnetic tree each day. Christmas pics to come!
