This post chronicles the day Emmy turned Two!
The night before her birthday, I made sure to snap one last picture of our One Year Old before she turned two!

| Final goodnight to our one year old! |
Emmy's birthday fell on a Friday this year so we brought the kids to school in the morning and went to work. Both Joe and I left work early and picked up the kids together to go out to dinner. We loved that when we came to get her she was wearing an adorable birthday crown that the teachers had made for her at school <3
Proud big brother with the birthday girl!

| They are so good together! |
 |
| Miss birthday girl! |
We asked Emmy where she wanted to go for dinner and she said "Pasta". We went to the Macaroni Grill - somewhere Joe and I hadn't been to in years! It was clear when we got there that we chose the right place - Right on the cover of the menu was Emmy's name - Tomatoes from the "Emilia Romagna" region of Italy ;)
Dinner was fun and pasta is always a crowd pleaser with the kids :) Emmy is happy as long as she's in Mommy's lap these days.

| Definitely a Mama's Girl right now! |
 |
| This is 100% my child. |
 |
| Couldn't love him more! |
Nolan had fun drawing on the table (this was amazing to him that it was allowed!) He drew himself all the way on the right hand side of the picture below and he also drew "Dean" in blue to go along with the stick figure family Joe drew <3
When we got home, we opened the presents from mommy and daddy. We kept it very low key with the presents coming off of Christmas and knowing a lot more were coming our way with her birthday party. Emmy got a few more "Go Go Smart Friends" for her playhouse set (and we knew los abuelos were getting her the matching castle for her birthday) and each kid got a build a bear stuffed animal (these were gifted to us from a neighbor - Snoopy for Nolan and Olaf for Emmy).
After presents, we ended the evening with cupcakes at home. Emmy LOVED singing the birthday song to herself and I found herself singing it for weeks afterwards.

| Keeping the birthday crowd tradition alive! |
 |
| Finger taste first! |
 |
| Look of approval from the taste tester! |
 |
| Vanilla for Nolan, Chocolate for Emmy! |
 |
| All in all it was a fun and memorable day. |
 |
| Looking forward to another year with our spunky and hilarious two year old! |
Happy Birthday Emilia Caroline. You are incredibly loved!
