18/19 weeks old!

I'm falling behind on posts due to adjusting to our new schedule with Nolan attending daycare (ie I don't have my mom helping out at home anymore!) and balancing blog posts with readying for this year's foundation dinner on September 10th.

Welcome back from London, Mommy and Daddy!
19 Weeks Old

These weeks were Nolan's first in daycare! Which meant we had to adjust to yet another new schedule. My mom is awesome and fully stocked our freezer with pre-made homecooked meals so the evenings wouldn't be so hectic with cooking and getting dinner on the table.
Morning before first day of school!
Nolan has been doing fantastic at daycare. He adjusted right away having no problems taking his bottles and going down for naps from day one.  Makes it easy for us to handle being at work knowing he is doing well at school. I think he gets even better naps there than at home because he's always in a very happy mood when i pick him up that lasts all the way until bedtime whereas he used to get cranky from 5pm on when he napped at home.

Nolan's Star at School
Having a fun morning at school
Every day when I pick Nolan up we get a sheet of when he ate/slept/diaper changed as well as what they did that day. The entire school has monthly/weekly themes and each room does age-appropriate activities for the themes. This month's theme is the Western US, and Nolan's first week's theme was the "four corner's region"and the second week was Los Angeles. During his second week Nolan made his very first art work - his own Hollywood star :)

Nolan's first masterpiece!
It's fun to pick him up everyday and get to read what he did as well as check out the cool crafts the room makes every day. They also have a really nice outdoor area that they spend a lot of time playing in.

Weekends are still spent soaking in as much Nolan time as possible with lots of snuggles and playtime.

Hanging out outside with Sophie
Nolan just keeps getting more and more fun. His smiles are getting bigger and his laughs louder and more contagious.
I just want to gobble him up!
Loving daddy time!
You're so funny, Mom!

Playtime in his bouncy chair (and reppin' Auntie Em's team)
We had our 4 month Doctor's appointment, and Nolan is doing fantastic. He's right on his growth curves and the doctor was very happy with his progress. He's still 100% breastfed, which I'm proud to be able to say 6 weeks into going back to work, and being away for 4 nights. Nolan's still a little peanut at only 13lbs, 10.5 oz (13.5%), but is long and lean at 2'1'' (40.3%). His head circumference is 16.5'' (54.8%). He got his 2nd round of shots (Pentacel, Prevnar13, Rotavirus), and got the green light to start solids anytime between 4-6 months. We haven't started him yet, but are starting to see some signs that he may be interested/ready so maybe in the next few weeks. I picked up organic rice cereal and oatmeal for him at Whole Foods today so we're stocked whenever we feel ready.

Healthy Kiddo

Reunited after Dean's camp while we were in London

The doctor agreed we're definitely in "teething" territory now. Hand is constantly in mouth and drool is everywhere. In fact, the first feedback we got from daycare was "more bibs please!"

The Teether

The other weird stage we're in right now is that Nolan is a pro at rolling from back to front (see video below), but not so much from front to back (we've seen him do it, but he often gets frustrated and gives up). Thus, we've had some fun nights of extra wakeups due to a frustrated little boy who is stuck on his stomach. The picture below also shows a new development - legs through the side of the crib (this boy is MOBILE!) We've since put some breathable bumpers up and had no further problems...

Unhappy boy - stuck on his stomach and leg stuck out of crib!
Speaking of being mobile, Nolan is so strong on his legs! He constantly wants us to stand him up, and will even "walk" along while hold him up:

Always wants to stand!

Nolan "walking"

All in all, we are in constant awe of how fast our little boy is changing on a weekly (even daily) basis, and just try to soak it all in.

One very loved little boy
All tuckered out from a hard day!
