After our fun Christmas morning at home, we headed straight to the Pappases house in NJ for christmas evening celebrations and dinner. It was great to spend Christmas evening with my mom and dad, along with my "second family" parents and friend-since-birth Lauren P. Lauren's cousins Chloe and Michael were also there with their mother, Mary. Michael is absolutely smitten with Nolan and is the best babysitter (they've spent quite a bit of time together at past get-togethers). I wish Michael lived closer because we'd hire him as a babysitter all the time :)
We don't have a ton of photos from the night, but managed to grab a few quick ones with our iPhones.

Joe dropped Nolan and I off at first, then headed back to my parent's house to drop off Dean. When he got back, I headed outside to the car for a minute to grab some presents to give, and was knocked over by an absolutely gorgeous sunset. The photos below don't do it justice. The entire sky was lit up in breathtaking pinks, purples, and oranges. There was no doubt in my mind that it was Emily's way of saying she was with us on this evening. After snapping the below photo, I let everyone inside know and many people came out and stood in silence, taking it in. It was a really special moment.

We had a great night. Dinner was delicious, we skyped in with Danielle P (my "other sister"), put Nolan down in Lauren's room for awhile so that Joe and I could hang out with Lauren and Chloe, and we even played a little cards against humanity, which was hilarious!
We called it a night around 10:30/11pm and brought Nolan back to my parent's house for the night. More present opening to come from the next day!
