Before our house went under contract, we tried to keep the kids out of the house for as much as possible during the weekends to keep it neat. When I saw discounted tickets being offered on a local yard sale site for "A Day Out with Thomas" at Strasburg Railway, I had to jump on it!
We went last year, and Nolan loved it. This year, the weather was rainy (but not as hot!), but we still had fun riding both Thomas and Percy, and getting a souvenir before the kids passed out in the car.
We were running late (shocker - it always takes way longer than you think to get 2 kids out the door in the morning!) so we actually missed our "scheduled" Thomas train by seconds - we saw it pull away as we were walking up. However, this turned into a not so bad thing, as we were ushered to another section for the next train and ended up with the open air car, which felt really nice!

Emmy having lots of fun too!

Hands full, heart full!

I think it's too early to be getting the double skeptical look from these two kiddos simultaneously!

Goofing around on Thomas
After our ride on Thomas, we decided to skip the line to "Sir Topham Hatt" as the light rain was persistent, and head straight to ride on Percy. This time we got the closed car with windows.

Nolan and Joe have grown so much closer lately. Nolan often prefers him to me now. I'm happy and sad about that ;)

Best Buds!

Still getting lots of Mommy snuggles though!

Best feeling ever.

Happy Emmy!

Nolan vetoed all photo opps!
After much deliberation, Nolan chose to buy the remaining two "Logging Locos" toys that we don't have (Bash and Ferdinand) at the gift tent. Unlike last year, we were able to make it back to the car tear-free (just a very tired bunch of kids!). We got to ride the school bus to and from the parking area, and Nolan loved every minute! All in all, it was worth it even though it rained - the house stayed clean, the kids wore each other out, and we got some fun quality family time in! I'm not sure when/if we'll be back to Strasburg now that we're moving, but I've heard great things about the Steam Engines in New Hope, so we may have to check those out next time!
