School Pictures: Fall 2016 and Spring 2017

Time for another school picture update! Last update was last August with Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 photos. I'm glad the schools take photos every 6 months because the kids change so much between them!

The fall photos were taken ~ September 2016: Emmy was 1.5, Nolan was 4.5. My favorites are always of them together. Another bonus of us keeping Nolan in Kindergarten at the same school is another year of sibling photos together!

This one makes us laugh so much, and really captures Emmy at this age. She makes this "smiling, but serious" face with a little bit of devilish on the side at this age!

We were sad that someone "brushed" Nolan's curls out before his photo :( I do think it's funny you can see the avenger's shirt poking out from under his sweater!

This crooked smile reminds me of Joe's fake smile :-D

And fast forward 6 month and these photos were taken in Spring 2017 (April): Emmy was 2, Nolan was 5. They got so big!

We made sure everyone knew not to mess with Nolan's hair this time and I love how tousled it is so cute!

The kids continue to blossom and grow at school with each year! We are lucky to have found a good fit for them and a place they enjoy and have made wonderful friends!

Nolan's best friends during this stage: Henry Thomas (moved to Portland in winter 2016), Marcus, Henry V, Thomas, Tariq, Mason, Jaiden. He adores his teacher Ms Gillis and has learned a lot about people with disabilities through her (she walks with a cane). She gives the best morning snuggles! Nolan is our sweet and sensitive boy who always would prefer to stay with mommy than to go to school, but once he is there he doesn't want to leave and we have just been amazed at how much he learns during the day. He's just hard with transitions (drop off and pick up) and once he's into an activity doesn't want to stop! We've loved all the friends (and their parents!) that we've got to meet through him this year. We've remained close to Henry Thomas's parents and are headed over to Portland in a few weeks to visit them!

Emilia's best friends during this stage: Violette, Hazel, Shane (Shaney boy), Blake (Blakey boy), Cammie, Dahlia. She loved Ms Kierstyn, Ms Danielle, and Ms Amanda. She recently transitioned from Ms Amanda's Discovery B class and has been upset every morning as she adjusts to her new teachers. It's sad to see they struggle with the transition, but it makes me happy that she's developed such a close bond to her teachers! Overall, she's our social butterfly and loves going to school. She typically has extremely easy drop offs. Since Mason/Violette and Jaiden/Shane have both kids in the same classes as we do, we've been hanging out with their families to have all the kids play together. It's a fun group!

I can't believe we'll only have 1 more of these posts before the kids are separated into different schools :( The good news is that our elementary schools go from K-6 so they'll be back at the same school again when Nolan is in 3rd grade and Emmy in Kindergarten and will be together for another 3 years before splitting again.
