Last Saturday, March 3rd, I had my baby shower in my hometown! It was thrown by my wonderful aunts Mary Beth and Peggy. We had it at the same place my bridal shower was held. About 40 people attended and I had such a great time!

It truly was a wonderful day, and Joe and I feel so fortunate to have so many generous and caring people supporting us through this exciting time in our lives. Baby B is very lucky to have so many who love him already! It took us 2 full cars to get everything home, and we are still in the process of organizing and putting everything together. The rest of the photos from the shower can be found
here.
This weekend we started putting together our first baby items around the house! It really hits home that he is going to join us soon when we see his things in various rooms.

So much more to unpack and put away! Lots to do!

More big items from the shower to put together!

We are definitely prioritizing and getting items that are usable right away for a newborn. It'll be so nice to have things ready to go once baby gets here (fingers crossed!) Again, we cannot thank our family and friends enough for their extreme generosity. I have many thank you's to write!
We are also making progress with home-related nesting as well. This weekend we put up our Ikea Expedit and love having such a statement piece in our formerly empty room. The plan is to use the baskets for baby items. We also plan to get a few comfy arm chairs and storage ottoman from Ikea soon. The room is really starting to come together!

Progress: Ikea Expedit assembled and in place. So much storage!

The shower is a day I will never forget, and my sister-in-law Jessica came over today with some surprises to help remember the day. First, she put together this adorable ABC's picture with letters that were decorated at the shower. Can't wait to hang it as part of our gallery wall :)
 |
Sweet gift from Jessica from letters that were painted by women who attended our baby shower!
|
She also bound all the "Motherly Advice" cards that the women filled out. Reading through them is very touching, and is such a great memory from the shower to look back on. I even asked everyone to write down their picks for baby B's name since we are still deciding! The book came out so cute!

This week should be relatively quiet (no doc appointments or big milestones) but I'll be sure to pop back in with a "how I'm feeling" post soon....hopefully accompanied by more nesting progress!
