From NC to PA...: June 2014 Recap: 2 Years, 2 Months

Time to unload all my "slice of life" iPhoto pics from June! June was a super busy month for us. We started the month with Joe and I trading off time for work travel, celebrated Father's Day, and spent the rest of the month spending as much time as possible outdoors (including investing in some water play toys for at home and berry picking!).

In early June, I traveled to San Diego for 4 days to attend a conference for work. It was my first time in that beautiful city, and luckily I ducked out of the conference here and there to take in some of the sights.

Meanwhile, Joe was a single dad at home for a few days! One of the days was a Sunday, so he took Nolan over to his sister Jessica's house for a playdate with cousin Mattie. I got some cute photos sent to me in California (below!)

After I got home from my trip, we spent a whole 2 days together before Joe then headed to Austin, TX for a few days for work. Now it was my turn to be a single mom! New water toys, beautiful weather, Nonna and Pop Pop, and a visit from Kevin/Virginia to the rescue! It takes a village ;)

Nonna and Pop Pop came for a night while Joe was away. Nolan was overjoyed to see them - he asks for them constantly! While they were here, we went out for breakfast at our favorite spot and played outside some more with the water toys with Kevin, Virginia, Cylar, and baby Raleigh!

Things to remember:

I have a whole separate post on some of our current favorite "Nolan phrases". There are too many to list here. He is like a real little person now - talking in complete sentences, and letting us know what he wants. I love it so much, and am constantly wow'ed at how speech develops!
"What day is it today??" Nolan - "Pizza Day!!", "Guess what??" Nolan - "No School today!!"
Summer camp - sprinkler/water play 2x/week and a weekly visitor to his school
His school adopted a new "app" (Tadpoles) that electronically delivers his daily updates and emails photos of his daily activities to us. We love it!

Watching the world cup together. Nolan loves soccer and enjoyed running around the house yelling "Goooooaaaal!!!" We got him a "USA" soccer shirt and Joe a Netherlands one.
