One of the things we were really looking forward to after moving was checking out the trains in New Hope, PA. As previously mentioned, Nolan is a huge aficionado of trains and we've made several trips to Strasburg, PA to ride on Thomas. The New Hope train runs "The North Pole Express" - which basically mimics The Polar Express every holiday season. We took advantage of a groupon and got tickets early in the season.
We should have built it up more - reading the book, watching the movie etc, but this was a quick decision to book and go, so Nolan didn't get all the references to the book/movie until afterwards, but everyone still had a great time!
I took advantage of working from home the day before thanksgiving and an early black friday sale at the Gap to pick up some matching Pajamas for the kids. I nearly died of cuteness and immediately felt the need to buy more matching clothing!

The North Pole Express was cute, but pretty expensive for what it was! We got on, were served complimentary hot chocolate and cookies, there was some live christmas music, we stopped at "The North Pole" (a station with the name hanging from it) after which Santa came through the cars to talk to all the kids and take pictures (which is more money if you want theirs). They also give Santa's sleigh bells out as gifts just like the Polar Express. I think Nolan would have enjoyed it more if he knew more about the Polar Express - now he is obsessed with the movie and I bought him the book for Christmas, and has already asked when he can go back!

| The Fam with Mr and Mrs Claus! Nolan is clutching the bag with his bell in it. Everyone could look happier, but at least the kids are matching ;) |
