We're off to London tomorrow for the 2012 Summer Olympics (!!!), so I'm going to include both 16 and 17 weeks in one post since he turns 17 weeks in 2 days. Warning: Excessive amounts of photos may be involved for this effort! :)
16 weeker
Lots to report on for these weeks. Nolan continues to develop at warp speed, seemingly gaining skills on a daily basis. He is so much more interactive with his toys now, grasping and holding them, and even bringing them to his mouth.
Sophie tastes good!
Toys aren't the only things that are constantly in his mouth....
Fist in mouth, always.
He loves the mobile we picked up at IKEA this week. He lays below and just kicks and kicks, along with some pretty darn cute coos and excited noises.
New favorite toy!
Playing with his mobile!
A lot of times when Nolan smiles, he covers his face with his hand looking very "bashful". It is adorable! Here is a video :)
Nolan's been spending a lot of time in his high chair and bumbo chair. We load up his tray with his favorite toys and he can now interact and play a little more independently!

Good Morning, Handsome!

I've had enough!
I still love my gym!

He plays hard, and naps hard (sometimes...) ;)

Had to capture this face as I was about to lay him down to sleep for the night...
In mommy and daddy's bed in the morning
Still sneaking in lots of snuggles with Mommy (mostly when he wakes up before Mommy's alarm!)
More mommy snuggles!
He's been doing great during the day with Nonna! I have complete peace of mind at work that he's in good hands, and both are really enjoying the bonding time :)
Nonna and Nolan (who likes to drool on Nonna's shoulder!)
Of course, there's still lots of Father-Son bonding time as well!
Two peas in a pod.
Nolan gets a bath every 2-3 days. We still get mixed reactions...
What??? It's BATH time??
I didn't like the bath today :(
But I'm quickly distracted by my favorite mobile!
So fresh and so clean!
We had a visit from Joe's parents, sister Jessica, and our niece Matigan!
Abuela and Preppy Nolan!

This week was very tough for the Barrientos household as Penn State received some very harsh sanctions and will take many years to recover. We were saddened by all the events this year, but will always cheer on Penn State and hope to create happy memories rooting on Penn State with Nolan as he grows.
First time in his PSU onesie!

We are... and will always be... PENN STATE!
We did hit a fun milestone just a few days ago! This past Friday Nolan rolled over for the first time (front to back)! Luckily both Joe and I were working from home in the morning when it happened. I witnessed it first, then called Joe down and Nolan had a repeat performance, which we captured on video!
Tomorrow we're off to London. Nolan will stay at home with Nonna and Papa Specs. Dean is off to Camp Bow Wow (which he loves by the way!) We are going to miss our guys SO MUCH, but we are so excited for this once in a lifetime opportunity. We'll be VIP the entire time, flying business class, being chauffeured around, and having access to hospitality suites at both the hotel and Olympic Park! We're staying at the Hilton Tower Bridge Hotel, right in the heart of London. I'll definitely be blogging about our experience when we return.
Even though he's not making the trip with us, Nolan is still excited about the Olympics for his Mommy and Daddy.
