Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween!!

My First Halloween
Nolan had a great first Halloween, and we had so much fun experiencing it with him! He started off the day wearing his skeleton outfit to daycare (thanks Nonna for the gift!)

This was our first day back to work/daycare after a 4 day weekend due to Hurricane Sandy. We feel very lucky to have only been mildly affected by the storm (loss of power for 24hrs). On Tuesday we spent the day at Nolan's Abuelos to warm up a bit and charge our various electronics. Monday night was pretty scary with no power and hearing the very LOUD winds and rain battering the house. Joe and I had nightmares of windows blowing in and trees falling on the house (we slept in the guest room to avoid a large tree that is outside of the Master bedroom), but we were thankfully spared from any damage. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who weren't as lucky. My parents still don't have power and may be hanging out at our place this weekend to warm up.

Getting back to Halloween, it was a great first day to head back to the grind as we had a short day in order to make it to Nolan's halloween parade at his daycare! It was adorable! The parade was supposed to be in their playground, but due to wet grounds it was relocated to the parking lot.

Here they come (infants are up first!)

Nolan's teachers and classmates

Kids in the bye bye buggy (they use this daily to get the kids some fresh air!)

There's our little guy!

So fun!

Nice and warm in his monkey costume
After the parade, we headed home to take some photos before the trick or treaters started coming! The whole reason we chose to get Nolan a monkey costume this year is because Deaner already had a banana costume from last year, and we couldn't resist coordinating their outfits :)

Such Silly Boys!

Deaner had enough of his hat. Nolan liked playing with his buddy.

We didn't trick or treat with Nolan this year since he is so young. We did bring him over to the neighbors to show off his costume and he helped me hand out candy to the trick or treaters until his bedtime. He was a big hit at the door with both kids and parents (Dean also was a hit in his costume!) After Nolan went to bed, Joe and I hung out on the front porch to meet the trick or treaters without dealing with the doorbell ringing all night potentially waking up Nolan. It was fun to sit outside with a few beers and just hang out. We had a decent amount of kids come by, but we probably over prepared with the candy. It was our first year at the house for halloween so we had no idea what to expect! Overall, a very fun day and we look forward to future years when Nolan can get more into the trick or treating spirit!
