Christmas in New Jersey 2014

Last Christmas post! We headed over to New Jersey after we had a nice Christmas morning at home. We quickly dropped Dean off at my parents' house and headed over to our family friends for Christmas dinner. This family is like a second immediate family to me, and we had a great time!

Nolan continuing his role as "present opener" with Pop Pop!

After a yummy dinner, and lots of playing, Nolan started nodding off with his BFF Michael and we headed back to my parents' house for bedtime. The next morning, the festivities continued again for the 3rd straight day of present opening (spoiled much?!)

But of course, not before playing with all the toys Pop Pop had ready first - the train underneath the tree was an instant favorite!

This kid loves his Pop Pop!
Nolan definitely had the present routine down by now, but was lacking the stamina to make it through the crazy amount of presents awaiting him and got a bit of burn out towards the end. It got to the point where my friend Lauren came to visit later in the afternoon and Nolan straight up refused to open another present. Guess we need to hold back a bit more next year ;)

Ready for Christmas #3!

Both Boys ready to start with the opening!

What's this mommy?

Excited about his new dining set (bee theme!) from Nonna and Pop Pop (still his favorite ones to eat from!)

The Hess Truck from Pop Pop was a big hit!

I just loved watching them play together :)
We decided to stay in NJ for a few days post Christmas so we could see Danielle and Scott, who were flying in from California (via Florida first). I grew up with Danielle and Lauren since we were babies, and consider them my sisters. It was such a rare treat for us to all be together to hang out! The days after Christmas were easy to fill with visits from 2 of my good high school friends, a rare date night for Joe and I to go see a movie (we saw Wild and loved it), and going out to watch the Penn State bowl game!

We headed back to the Pappases to hang out with Danielle and Scott when they got into town and the next morning for brunch before we headed back to PA.

Just chillin' with the Pappas crew: Scott, Lauren, Danielle, Chloe, and Mary
I love these girls more than anything in the world <3
Nolan being pulled into the fun
The most normal we can be!
Nolan felt right at home with everyone and was his usually silly and playful self running laps around the house!

Before heading back, I tried to grab a few group shots - camera settings/light were a little wonky, but you get the idea! It was a really great trip and I feel so unbelievably lucky to have all these people in my life.

Last Christmas as a family of 3!

This is more like it!

This little girl will have the best Aunties!

Now that Christmas is over (ahem... a month ago), all focus has been shifted to Baby Girl on the way! Lots of preparations have been in action to get us ready for her grand arrival. Hope to catch up on another baby-related post soon. It's hard to wrap my hands around the fact that Nolan was born only 10 days from TODAY. Feeling a real mixture of excitement, anticipation, with a healthy bit of nervousness/stress!
