Easter 2015

Easter came early this year - the first weekend of April! Nolan's birthday fell on Good Friday, so we couldn't have his birthday party at our house until the following weekend.

The weekend before Easter we went to the Egg Hunt at Villanova University on Sunday. We couldn't go to the Narberth hunt like we did last year since we had a conflict with Liam's birthday party. The Villanova hunt was fun too - there were over 30,000 eggs on the football field and the different age ranges were sectioned off. It was right during Nolan's nap time and he kept nodding off on the car ride there (we kept talking to him to keep him from falling asleep!) so he was a little lackluster in his activity level, but in the end he cleaned up with over 70 eggs (he was only a week away from turning 3, which would have put him out of the 0-2yr section so he was probably the oldest kid getting eggs there!) We will probably try to go back to the Narberth one next year since we liked the community feel better there and the candy was much better ;)

Mid Hunt. Not much competition going on - very leisurely picking them up

Going through his eggs - look at that full basket!
Waving to the Easter Bunny on the way out. Not scared at all! The flimsy costume didn't fool Nolan though - he kept saying "there's something IN there!" afterwards haha!

The week before Easter we ventured over to the King of Prussia Mall to get our annual photos with the Easter Bunny. After last year's teary picture, we weren't sure if Nolan would want to do it this year, but he actually asked to go and wasn't afraid at all! It was a great experience. Emmy slept through the whole thing and Nolan was confused "why the Easter bunny didn't talk". He expected an exchange like with Santa :)

After the successful photo, Nolan wanted to push the stroller around the mall a bit and go for a ride on the elevators ;) We also were all starving so we stopped at the food court for dinner.

Walking around the mall after the Easter Bunny. Nolan liked the ears he gave him, but wondered why he didn't get a Lollipop like the other Easter Bunny...

What a fun outing!!

Easter morning was spent at Nonna and Pop Pop's house. Each kid got 2 baskets Easter morning since both me and my mom made one - lucky ducks!

Nolan had a blast opening presents. Between his birthday and Easter being so close together, he was definitely getting majorly spoiled and expecting things every day! He saw one look at the remote controlled Thomas and it was all over - he didn't want to look at anything else in his baskets :)

So excited about the Remote Controlled Thomas!

This was the scene for much of the morning ;)

Emilia and Grandparents, Easter Morning 2015
As usual, my parents hosted a massive Easter get-together for our extended family with over 50 people attending! This was most of my extended family's first meeting of Emilia, so she was a big hit during the party. Of course she was on her best behavior and slept in everyone's arms so no one believed me that she was a tough baby ;) Already being tough on her mama!

Me and the kiddos!
There were a few younger kids in attendance so my parents did an Easter Egg hunt in their backyard (thanks to Aunt Peggy for hiding the eggs!) Peggy also followed her tradition from when I was growing up of renting an Easter Bunny costume!! She debuted it to Nolan during the Easter Egg hunt and he loved it. Although he then asked me why THIS Easter bunny did talk when the other didn't... this kid!!

Happy kid!

Holidays just keep getting more and more fun with kids. Nolan gets more excited about them with each year! I'm a lucky girl to have this life. <3
